Loughloe House campaign
Athlone Architectural
Heritage Group is wholeheartedly backing the campaign to save Loughloe
House, the Health Service Executive's (HSE) nursing home in Athlone.
We feel that the
most vulnerable people in Athlone are being victimised and that Mary
Harney's HSE have got it terribly wrong in this instance, causing
heartbreak and trauma to residents of Loughloe House and their families.
The decision by the HSE is to close this unit and relocate the residents
into private nursing homes and into environments which are
completely alien to them, causing great distress.
